PERFORMANCE CLASSES
To compete for ALSA Grand Champion Performance Llama, the llama must enter at least 2 ALSA Advanced performance events. To compete for Grand Champion Novice Performance Llama, the llama must enter all 3 novice performance events.  Highest point total determines the champions.  Grand and Reserve Champion Junior, Intermediate, and Senior Youth will be awarded.  Also awarded will be Grand & Reserve Maiden Performance  (exhibitors must enter all three Maiden classes to qualify for these awards).

Obstacle
Llamas may be entered in only one of the obstacle divisions (Youth or Open). 
Novice   Non -ALSA. Class is open to any animal over 5 mos. that has not placed 1st-3rd   three times in Novice Obstacle.
Advanced   This class is open to any animal over 5 mos. of age.
Maiden  Non-ALSA. This class is open to any llama that has never entered an obstacle    class or has never ribboned.

Public Relations Llamas may be entered in only one of the Public Relations (Youth or Open),
  divisions. 
Novice    Class is open to any animal over 5 mos. that has not placed 1st-3rd three times in   Novice Public Relations.
Advanced  Class is open to any animal over 5 mos. of age.
Maiden  Non-ALSA. This class is open to any llama that has never entered a Public Relations    class or never ribboned.

Pack   Llamas may be entered in only one of the Pack (Youth or Open), divisions. 
Novice    Class is open to any animal that has not placed 1st-3rd three times in Novice Pack.
  Llamas over 36 mos. must carry weight. (See ALSA hand-book).
Advanced  Class is open to any animal over 5 mos.  Llamas over 36 mos. must carry    weight. (See ALSA handbook).
Maiden  Non-ALSA. This class is open to any llama that has never entered a pack    class or never ribboned.  Llamas must wear a pack filled out as it would be on the trail.

String-a-Long NON ALSA. Participants in this class must lead a 3 llama pack string through various   obstacles that they might encounter on the trail.  All llamas in the string-a-long must   wear packs filled out as they would be on the trail.

Obstacle Driving Driving classes are open to any cart-pulling llama.  No riders permitted.
Pleasure Driving

Costume
-  Judging criteria includes originality, training, time and energy involved, etc.  No   ALSA points awarded.

Timed Obstacle  Non ALSA. This is a timed event.  Open to any age llama and handler.  Points will be   deducted for safety faults. No ALSA points awarded. Winner takes the $100 prize   money!
